Why Do I Feel Anxious All the Time?

Do you wake up at 3 a.m. with your mind racing, worrying about things you can’t seem to switch off?

Perhaps your heart suddenly starts pounding, your chest feels tight, or you find yourself struggling to catch your breath.

Or maybe it’s that constant voice in your head: “What if I can’t cope? What if I get it wrong? Am I good enough?”

Anxiety can leave you exhausted, frightened, and feeling as though you’re no longer in control of your own life.

You don’t have to face it all on your own.

I’m Lucy Townsley, and I offer personalised anxiety and confidence coaching in Loughrea, Co. Galway, and online.

Together, we can explore what’s happening for you and work on practical ways to manage anxiety, reduce overwhelming thoughts, and rebuild your confidence.

This does not mean you are weak.
It does not mean you are broken.
And it does not mean you have to keep living this way.

Anxiety can show up in different ways.

You might wake up already feeling tense.
You might see everything that could go wrong before the day has even started.
You might hear that voice in your head saying, “What if I can’t cope?”
You might feel it in your chest, stomach, throat, shoulders, breathing, or sleep.

And sometimes the hardest part is that nobody else can see how much you are carrying.

You may look fine on the outside, but inside you feel overwhelmed, restless, emotional, or constantly on edge.

Meet Lucy Townsley

Acupuncturist, Life Coach & NLP Practitioner — Loughrea, Co. Galway

Hello, I’m Lucy.

For over 25 years, I’ve been helping people navigate challenges affecting their health, wellbeing and confidence.

One thing I’ve learned over those years is that anxiety doesn’t look the same for everyone.

For one person, it’s waking at 3 a.m. with a racing mind. For another, it’s that horrible feeling in their chest, the constant worrying, or the little voice that keeps telling them they’re not good enough.

And sometimes, it’s simply feeling that you’ve lost the confident, happy person you used to be.

My approach is personal because you are an individual, not a list of symptoms.

Alongside my acupuncture practice, I’ve trained in life coaching and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), including training with Tony Robbins and Ali Campbell.

I bring together my experience, coaching skills and practical strategies to help you explore what’s happening, recognise unhelpful patterns and find ways to move forward.

I’m not here to tell you to “just relax” or “stop worrying.” If it were that easy, you’d have done it already!

I’m here to listen, understand and help you take the next step towards feeling more confident and in control of your life.

You Are Not Weak — Your System May Be Overloaded

Anxiety is often your body’s way of trying to protect you.

But when that protection system stays switched on for too long, everyday life can start to feel harder than it should.

You may find yourself:

✔️ Overthinking everything
✔️ Feeling tense or unable to relax
✔️ Struggling to switch off
✔️ Waking during the night
✔️ Feeling emotional or overwhelmed
✔️ Avoiding things you used to manage
✔️ Feeling like you are always “on alert”

“Your past does not dictate your future. No matter how heavy the weight feels, you have the power to let it go and create a new path forward.”

Anxiety Support That Helps You Feel Seen, Heard, and Understood

When you come to me, you will not be judged, rushed, or told to “just relax.”

You will be listened to properly.

We look at what has been going on for you, how anxiety is showing up in your life, and what your mind and body may be trying to protect you from.

Then we gently begin working with those patterns, so you can start to feel safer, calmer, and more in control.

This support may help you:

✔️ Feel calmer in your body
✔️ Quiet the constant overthinking
✔️ Let go of old emotional patterns
✔️ Reduce stress and tension
✔️ Feel more relaxed and grounded
✔️ Start seeing yourself and your life differently
✔️ Feel more like yourself again

What Happens During Your Appointment?

When you come to see me, the first thing we do is talk.

I want to understand what’s happening in your life, how anxiety is affecting you, and what you would most like to change.

You won’t be rushed, judged or expected to have all the answers.

I draw on my experience in life coaching, NLP, and practical approaches to stress management to tailor our session to your needs.

We might explore the thoughts that keep you awake at night, the situations that trigger anxious feelings, or the self-doubt that stops you from doing things you’d love to do.

I’ll help you identify practical strategies you can begin using in everyday life.

You don’t need acupuncture or needles to book this appointment.

If you’re interested in acupuncture, we can discuss that separately. But this is a coaching appointment, and we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Imagine Feeling Calmer

Imagine waking up and not immediately feeling that heavy, anxious feeling.

Imagine hearing a calmer voice inside your head.

Imagine your breathing slowing, your shoulders softening, and your body beginning to feel safe again.

Imagine moving through your day feeling clearer, steadier, and more in control.

That is what we work towards — gently, safely, and at a pace that feels right for you.

Ready to Take The First Steps

You do not have to keep pushing through anxiety on your own.

If you are struggling with anxiety, stress, overthinking, or feeling constantly on edge, call or WhatsApp Lucy at 00353872273084.

We’ll talk about what has been going on, what you would like to feel instead, and whether this support feels like the right fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Anxiety & Confidence Coaching

Can anxiety coaching help if I constantly overthink everything?

If your mind never seems to switch off, you’re worrying about what might happen, or you’re constantly questioning yourself, coaching may help you explore those patterns and develop practical ways to respond differently. We’ll look at what’s happening in your everyday life and what you’d most like to change.

What happens during my first appointment?

First, we talk. I want to understand what you’re experiencing and how it’s affecting your life. I use a personalised approach drawing on life coaching, NLP and practical stress-management techniques. We work together to identify strategies that suit you. You don’t need to prepare anything or have all the answers before we meet.

Do I need acupuncture or needles?

No, absolutely not. Anxiety & Confidence Coaching is a separate appointment. There are no needles involved. If you’re interested in acupuncture, we can discuss that separately.

Can I book online coaching if I don’t live in Galway or Ireland?

Yes. I offer online Anxiety & Confidence Coaching through Microsoft Teams, so you don’t need to travel to my clinic in Loughrea. When booking, simply select the online appointment option.

How much does anxiety coaching cost?

A 60-minute Anxiety & Confidence Coaching appointment costs €90. A €30 deposit secures your booking, with the remaining €60 payable at your appointment. You can choose an in-person appointment in Loughrea, Co. Galway, or an online session through Microsoft Teams.

Is anxiety coaching the same as counselling or therapy?

No. My coaching focuses on understanding your experiences, exploring unhelpful thinking patterns, developing practical strategies, and building confidence. It is not a replacement for counselling, psychotherapy or medical treatment. If you need specialist mental health support, I can encourage you to seek the appropriate professional care.
